John 14: 6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

We exist to worship God
By proclaiming Jesus
Making disciples
Rooted in the Word of God
Empowered by the Spirit of God.

People are sometimes inclined to think of church as a building or an organization of programs and events, but the New Testament paints a very different and far more glorious picture. The Church is made up of men, women, and children created in the image of God, rescued from the curse of sin by the merciful redemption of God, who are free now to live radically for the kingdom of God and carry the message of His love and grace to others for the glory of God. The Church is called to be ambassadors of reconciliation, the very hands and feet of Christ, the light of the world.

Our vision for Hillside is to be that kind of church— a group of people who never lose sight of the truth that they have been saved by extravagant grace and who freely offer that grace to others. We want to be a people who live humbly under the authority of God’s Word and joyfully under the kingship of Jesus. We want to constantly remember that this life is fleeting and the stakes are eternal and so live with conviction and passion for what truly matters. Knowing that we all struggle in this fallen world and can never live this out perfectly, we depend on one another to be honest and authentic, patient and forgiving. And we rest in the goodness of God, remembering that we are not on our own. It is His mighty power that is at work within us, and He is able to do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine.
