ALL SLAVERY IS NOT BAD!

Today slavery is a very hot topic amongst the BLM (Black Lives Matter). The BLM is protesting slavery and anything or anybody connected with owning slaves. In the United States slavery was abolished in 1862.

“The Emancipation Proclamation, or Proclamation 95, was a presidential proclamation and executive order issued by United States President Abraham Lincoln on September 22, 1862, during the Civil War.” Wikipedia

The first time slavery is mentioned in the Bible the whole nation of Israel were slaves of Egypt. (Leviticus 26:13)There are still all kinds of slaves in the world today. Human trafficking is the worst of the lot!

Even in the true Churches of God today there is slavery!

What does Jesus have to say about this slavery? First we must realize how slavery in the Church came about. Jesus first teaches us that we are baptized into the body of Christ (the Church)!

Romans 6:3-5 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection.

When Jesus died on the cross He conquered death and death does not have power over the body of Christ (the Church). Jesus shed His blood so that all the worlds’ sins are forgiven past present and future. Those who have repented and surrendered to Christ and confessed that they are sinners and receive the free gift of grace from Him are no longer under bondage or shackled in slavery to sin but have eternal life.

Romans 6: 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

9-10 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.

18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.

God created man for a very high calling to be His children forever. Wouldn’t you rather want to receive the free gift of Jesus Christ than to be burned in Hell? Get on your knees now and ask Jesus to come into our life and if you are really sincere He will give you the gift of eternal life!

THE LIGHT OF SALVATION REVEALED IN THE LAST TIME

By definition, a senior citizen is a person who has passed retirement age, a landmark in my life that I passed some fifteen years previously. I mull this over because I found myself not able to give service in and to the Church as easily as in my younger days. There were times when I taught Sunday school, gave bible studies, and preached in nursing homes on Sunday to the shut-in Church members. The time finally came when it was difficult for me to do those things. Suddenly, I was faced with needing to serve God in some new way. I begin to pray about this and sought God’s Word to find the answers I needed.

It just happens that I have had a computer since the early eighties. My first desk top computer used two 5 ½ inch floppy disks. One would contain a program and the other was set up to do my work on and save. The hard drive hadn’t been developed yet. I did not know at the time that learning how to use a computer would, some day, play an important part in founding a new ministry to reach unsaved people.

God, in His infinite wisdom, knew that it was time to introduce the internet. God the Father is the only one who knows when Christ’s second coming will take place but He give hints in Matthew 24: 32-33 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near — at the doors!

I believe in hind sight that the internet was a tremendous hint that the end was getting near because now there was a fantastic way to reach people all over the world with the Gospel message of salvation through faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1: 3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

The internet is like a great light shining over the world to the unsaved.

Matthew 4:16 The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.”

2 Corinthians 4:6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

My ministry is the “Worldwide Internet Evangelism”. I share Christ with thousands of people over the internet in over 170 countries. Just a few years ago this was impossible. My greatest inspiration to do this came from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Here is a brief account about the real beginning of internet evangelism.

“In 1996, BGEA entered the developing frontier of cyberspace, launching the ministry’s flagship website, BillyGraham.org. The site quickly became a portal to offer ministry updates and spiritual guidance, while also sharing the hope of Jesus with visitors. Today, hundreds of thousands visit the site every month. BGEA’s Internet Evangelism ministry today has seen millions make commitments to Jesus Christ online.”

Jesus Christ has sent all Christians out to be evangelist and He has provided the tools with which to do the job.

Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

It is time to reach all the nations of the world with the Cross of Christ!

Be an Internet Evangelist for Christ!

BE RESURRECTED TO LIFE

Jesus is risen and sets on the throne of God today and forever to rule over all things. He had to take on the form of a man in the flesh in order to present a worthy supreme sacrifice once and for all, for the sins of the world past present and future. All the people in the world today have had their sins forgiven. But in order to be born again, they must do what Jesus commanded them to do:  Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. It is through the resurrection of Christ that we attain being born again! 1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. This is how important the resurrection of Jesus is to our having eternal life. The Apostle Paul explains very clearly how important the resurrection is to Christians. 1 Corinthians 15:13-20 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up — if in fact the dead do not rise. For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.  But now Christ is risen from the dead!

Today is Easter Sunday! If you have never confessed your sins to Christ, today would be a most appropriate time to let Jesus know that you want Him to come into your life so that you may be saved. Don’t lose out by procrastination. Surrender to Him now! God bless you! In Jesus name, amen!

HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU WILL BE RESURRECTED?

There is only twenty nine more days to Easter! This is a good time to ask why Easter is so important. Is it special to you or is it just another religious day to be observed? Easter has an important message for everyone, whether they attend church or not. Those who have been raised in a Christian home have known about Easter all their lives but many people do not know what Easter is all about and what it means to them. So why do we observe it? Is there a special message about Easter?

Easter is a time when we give special worship to Jesus Christ for something He did! We celebrate Easter because it gives us assurance that when we die we will go to heaven to be with Jesus. Jesus did something very special after He was crucified on the cross. He had been buried in the tomb for three days and then rose again to life and ascended to the throne of God. Our Savior lives!

John 10:15, 17-18, As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

Jesus had the power to lay His life down and take it back up again. He specifically came to the earth to take on the flesh of a man for this enormously important purpose.

The Apostle Paul explains why He had to rise from the grave! Jesus was the most valuable to the Father so He was the only one who could do what He did!  He conquered death and made it possible for mankind to be resurrected to eternal life. He became the first born!

Romans 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

By His unselfish act of dying for us on the cross and then rising from the dead, Christ made it possible for us to live for eternity. His resurrection confirms our resurrection to be assured. That is how important it is!

1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 14, 20, For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.  And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. But now Christ is risen from the dead!

Read 1Corintians 15 and be filled with the Truth of God what Easter is all about! When Sunday, April 1, 2018, gets here, make it a point to attend a church service near you and celebrate this most important occasion in all our lives.

Dear heavenly Father, please hear my prayer for all who are lost without Jesus in their lives. I pray that you will convict the hearts of those who read this Easter message and bring them to understanding of the Truth of salvation through Jesus Christ. In the name of Jesus, amen!

WHAT IS EASTER TO YOU?

In about three weeks a celebration of a very special event in life of Jesus Christ takes place.
Just about everyone in this nation knows about Easter, but for a lot of different reasons. Some people are glad to see it because it represents another weekend when they can go camping or some other pleasurable thing. To some others it is a day that they do not understand why people make such a fuss about. And then there are the believers in Jesus Christ who celebrate His resurrection from the dead and His ascension to heaven. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most important and dramatic event to take place for his believers. The reason is simple for them to understand because it defines who they are and that their belief is something that is genuine because if it did not happen then everything Christians believe in is a lie and there is no such thing as eternal life in heaven and Jesus is not the Son of God.
But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. —1 Corinthians 15: 13-17
Much of the world does not know nor believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ but those who do believe know that Christ has indeed risen from the dead and sets on the throne of God in heaven. The resurrection of Christ represents the greatest event in the history of mankind.
But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. — 1 Corinthians 15: 20-24
Those who believe in the resurrection of Christ possess the greatest hope and future for mankind. They will inherit great blessings. They will have eternal life, a new body, new name, new home, a great reward, share God’s glory and share the very throne of Jesus Christ.
But someone will say, “How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come?” But God gives it a body as He pleases — 1 Corinthians 15:35, 38
So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” ” O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. — ! Corinthians 15: 54-57
Those who are not Christians do not have any hope in anything except what happens today and tomorrow will take care of its self. They are already dead. Christians have eternal life dwelling in them at this moment and God gave them His holy spirit as a guarantee that this is true.
1 Corinthians 6: 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
Easter is a time to give praise and glory to Jesus for He is alive and has risen from the dead that we may also be resurrected to eternal life. It is through Jesus Christ that we are saved, He is the way, the truth, and the life.

Call upon His name now and you shall be saved!
